This beautiful bridge is the Columbia Wrightsville bridge; it spans the Susquehanna River between Columbia & Wrightsville, PA. I thought the history was so interesting, as the original bridge was burned down to keep the confederate troops from crossing during the civil war which saved Lancaster from invasion. The pillars still remain. In the distance you can see the Route 30 bridge.
Christi Hetrick is a fine artist based in Lancaster, PA artist. She received a BFA degree from Tyler School of Art. She’s a member of the Doylestown Art League, New Hope Arts, & the A&C Council of Bucks County. She loves creating art, especially when painting Plein air in God’s beautiful creation. One of the best aspects about being an artist is how it changes the way she views nature, people, and even ordinary objects . . . like hay bales glowing in the afternoon sun, water lilies in her pond, a thrift store teapot, an old rusty bucket, her daughter posing with a magnifying glass, and even, her dog, Elliott. She works in oils, pen & ink, graphite/charcoal, pastel, & wax crayon!
