Coal Lines
A bit farther south, where the state turns into its namesake wilderness, the coal mines grow. Once while driving up and down through the Appalachian hills, just as I crested a turn at the top of a rise, I was greeted by coal chutes running alongside and over me like the longest waterslide ever. Making another turn farther down winding road, the land yawned open enough for spindly towers of metal and wires to appear in a cross-hatching trap made for a giant. The coal was turning into electricity before my eyes.

Born and raised in the gently rolling hills and farmlands of Lancaster County, PA, Jaci earned a BFA in Painting/Drawing at Tyler School of Art (of Temple University) in Philadelphia, PA. After moving to Pittsburgh, PA, she participated in her first residency program, The Distillery, through The Brewhouse, a gallery/work/live space located on the South Side of the city. A 2020 recipient of the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts Emerging Artist Fellowship, and mother to three, Jaci spends most of her time caring for her family while carving out time to work in her home studio. She continues her industrial landscape work based on observations of her current hometown of Weirton, West Virginia, once a monolith of the steel industry, now a Rust Belt beacon in the process of revitalization. She regularly shows her work though juried exhibitions, in collector’s homes throughout the country and completes commissioned work when able.

Orders, Shipping & Returns
SHIPPING
Amparo partners with ARTA to handle all shipping. ARTA offers full risk insurance. If an object arrives damaged or is lost, email claims@arta.io. ARTA will process all claims.
ORDERS
Price includes collection, custom packaging, and delivery with insurance. ARTA will provide estimated delivery dates via email and updates when the shipment is in transit. For large items, you will be contacted to schedule a delivery appointment.
RETURNS
In the event of a return, patrons can either book a return at dropoff, or they can contact hello@amparoart.com to request a return. Cancellation of an order before its arrival will result in a $50 charge. In addition, if the customer returns the work, they will be responsible for a stocking fee of 5% of the artworks’ price list.
