Rolling hills and rocky shorelines offer sweeping views of Boston Harbor, while tree lined carriage paths provide walking trails for all seasons. This painting captures the tide going out at the entrance of the World's End peninsula.
Patrick Chassaigne is a French native living in the Boston area for over 40 years. He is a self taught painter that uses oils to create landscapes that convey emotions and evocate nostalgic feelings. Patrick paints either in nature or in his studio using photographs or memories from his travels. He is following the tradition of New England painters - especially the Cape Ann artists such as Emile Gruppe and Charles Movalli. Following studies in France, Patrick came to the US in 1976 to study Color Science as part of a graduate program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Over the years, he held several management positions in the high-tech and life sciences industries until his retirement in September 2020. Painting was always a hobby but now, Patrick has time to devote to his passion.
